House sales in the U.S. increases in April 2010 compared with 2009.

Sales of existing homes in the U.S. rose by 7.6 percent in April, at an estimated annual rate of 5.77 million units.

Analysts had expected that sales would have risen by 5.1 percent, to an annual rate of 5.62 million, according to Bloomberg News forecast average.

The pace of sales in Mars was revised 5.36 million units (5.35).

The supply of existing homes for sale, in relation to the current sales pace, rose in April and “stoke” is sufficient, therefore to cover sales in 8.4 months, compared with revised 8.1 months in Mars (8.0).

Media prices rose 4.0 percent to 173.000 dollars, compared with the corresponding month of previous year.
