A new law will force the autonomous regions of annual budgets to be approved by Spain’s central government.

One of the regions Governments that most is opposed to Spanish government control is Catalonia. It has been one of the main reasons that the savings in the Catalonia region has been so extensive, not to give the Spanish central government’s argument to intervene of the autonomous economic finances.

The main argument for tightening of Spanish state control over the autonomous regions is their lack of self-regulation.
