One of Andalusia’s most important archaeological sites, Acinipo in Ronda has been reported to have been subjected to plundering. Despite the importance of this location, it is preserved very poor and basic security measures to protect the site yet. There are guards during the day but at night the security flaws, although it is the national and local police in charge of security.

It is currently unclear what has been stolen, but we have encountered several holes in the ground in Acinipo area. We speculate that plunderers had hoped to find metal objects such as coins, jewelry and arrowheads which are then sold on the black market. Ronda municipality does not want the archaeological site Acinipo plundered more.
