Ten years ago abandoned the peseta as payment in Spain. What not many people know is that “axarco” is its own currency in the Axarquía area east of Malaga. “Axarco” is derived from the 1400.

And a little later, in March 1989 was born two coins, one axarco, 20 grams of silver (30 Euros) and two “axarquillos” of 3.5 grams of copper (14 Euros).
