It is 40 percent cheaper to overwinter on the Costa del Sol Spain this year, compared with five years ago. It shows a survey by Post Office Travel Money in the UK.

Many northern Europeans are seeking to sun and sea during the winter months. And Spain and Sri Lanka are the cheapest options in the area to overwinter under the sun. Australia or the Caribbean are three times as expensive, the survey shows.

That overwinter on the Costa del Sol is 40 percent cheaper this winter compared with five years ago.

Furthermore, many typical products as beverages and sunscreen are cheaper here than elsewhere. The basket of goods in the survey cost 45 Euros in Spain, 33 Euros in Sri Lanka while the same basket cost 135 Euros in Barbados and three times as much in the Australian city of Brisbane compared to the Costa del Sol Spain.

The survey by Post Office Travel Money also shows that prices in the previous low country, Turkey is increasing. Turkey is 60 percent more expensive than the Costa del Sol Spain, the survey shows. What has become cheaper shows no study that says that it is cheap to overwinter Costa del Sol Spain.
