Regional Government Junta de Andalucia to put a stop to construction of new property along the coastline. This covers a total of stop for 43.500 square kilometers of the Andalusian and the Costa del Sol coastline.

Buildings with apartments on eleven floors along Velilla beach in Almunecar will soon be history if the regional Government Junta de Andalucia gets their way. The coastline is undeveloped and still present along the Mediterranean should be for everyone. In the future it is not about “who can afford an apartment overlooking the sea.”

With reference to the town plan “Plan Subregional de la Costa de Granada” that the future of apartments being built along the coast should not be built closer than half a kilometer from the coast, which is totally unrealistic and a bit too late because almost the entire coast is finished with luxurious apartments and villas. In Marbella municipality is almost 98% of the beaches populated.
