Spanish hotel chain Paradores close and shut down hotels

It does not look good for the former venerable hotel chain Paradores. The staff strikes in the coming holiday weekend after the announcement that management will close seven hotels and 27 hotels will shut down during the winter season.


644 employees can expect to get a pink slip, which corresponds to 14 percent of the hotel chain’s total workforce of 4,600 employees.


The seven Paradores, which completely closes, located in Albacete, Manzanares (Ciudad Real), Ayamonte (Huelva), Ferrol (A Coruña), Puerto Lumbreras (Murcia), Teruel and Verín (Ourense).


Representatives of the employees call closures and firing Round unacceptable because it among means that more of the company, employees will be employed on short term contracts. They also believe that the closures and cutbacks are launching a privatization of the hotel chain property marbella.

Catalonia: Aiguablava (Girona), Arties (Lleida), Seo d’Urgell (Lleida), Cardona (Barcelona), Vic-Sau (Barcelona) and Vielha (Lleida).


In Galicia, it applies to hotels in Vilalba (Lugo), Monforte de Lemos (Lugo), Santo Estevo (Ourense) and Tui (Pontevedra).


In Andalusia is seasonal closure for Paradorene in Cazorla (Jaén) and in Arcos de la Frontera (Cadiz).


In Castilla y León are the hotels in Benavente (Zamora), Puebla de Sanabria (Zamora), Cervera (Palencia), Gredos (Ávila), Tordesillas (Valladolid) and Villafranca del Bierzo (León).


In Castilla-La Mancha will hotels in Almagro (Ciudad Real) and Oropesa (Toledo) will be partially closed.


The remaining hotels that will be affected by the new austerity, located in Fuente dé y Limpias (Cantabria), Alcaniz (Teruel), Bielsa (Huesca), Guadalupe (Cáceres) and Paradoren in Santo Domingo (La Rioja).
