A new luxury area of Los Merinos for the rich will not be allowed to be built in a conservation area near the village of Cuevas del Becerro in the province of Malaga on the Costa del Sol, ten years of legal wrangling is over. After nearly 10 years of protests, lawsuits, forced displacement of police officers and illegal felling of trees, the Supreme Court of Andalusia decided to giant golf course project near the village of Cuevas del Becerro, will not get the building permit.
Ever since 2006, the trials were the legal battleground for opponents and supporters to Los Merinos, which was the name of the project that would become a golf course, a luxury hotel and a residential area.
Cuevas del Becerro is a town and municipality in the province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. The municipality is situated approximately 20 kilometers from Ronda and 105 km from the city of Málaga.
The plans were to build the Los Merinos on a piece of nature protection and the conservation of land, which is obviously not the environmentalists, agreed and started the protests, property Marbella.
